Brazil: Stand in solidarity with indigenous people

Read the media statement from Amazon Watch for background on this issue: After 21 days, indigenous occupation of Belo Monte Dam ends in discord (July 12, 2012)

Brazil's indigenous and environmental agencies are deciding whether to authorize the irrevocable diversion of the Xingu River, reducing its flow by as much as 80 percent. Join thousands of others in sending a message to FUNAI (the National Indian Foundation) and IBAMA (Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources) today. We cannot allow the Xingu to be destroyed with the stroke of a pen!

Take action here at Amazon Watch’s site.
